It is a pure-play manufacturing-focused ER&D firm that focuses mostly on the automotive sector. As of now, it has agreements with six of the top ten automotive ER&D spenders and four of the top ten influential new energy ER&D spenders until 2021.

One of Dalal Street’s most anticipated initial public offerings is Tata Technologies, a division of Tata Motors. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) received the company’s Draught Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) on March 9.

Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D), digital enterprise services, education programmes, and product and value-added reselling are the four main services provided by the Tata Motors subsidiary.

Engineering services are available to automakers through Tata Technologies’ ER&D, and its digital enterprise services offer services like artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning, and others.

The initial public offering (IPO) of Tata Technologies will be a full offer for sale (OFS), in which the company’s current shareholders, including Tata Motors, Alpha TC Holdings Pte, and Tata Capital Growth Fund-I, will sell their shares.
9.57 crore shares with a nominal value of Rs 2 make up the Tata Motors IPO. Tata Motors, the promoter, will sell up to 8.11 billion shares. The other shareholders, including Tata Capital Growth and Alpha TC Holdings Pte plans, will also sell up to 97.16 lakh and 48.58 lakh shares, respectively.

The weighted average cost of acquisition per equity share for Tata Motors, according to DRHP, is Rs 7.40, whereas it is Rs 25.10 for Alpha TC Holdings Pte.

Objects of the Issue

The objects of the Offer are:

  1. Achieve the benefits of listing the Equity Shares on the Stock Exchanges;
  2. Carry out the Offer for Sale of up to 95,708,984 Equity Shares by the Selling Shareholders.
